Hardwood stair nose is used on steps, landings, or stairs with wood planks to complete the tread. If you plan to make stair risers, you will need to bring the riser up flush with the existing tread for the riser to fit under the stair nose. You can also utilize stair nosing wherever you have a floor that is raised above the adjoining area. It is best to glue the stair nose with high grade construction adhesive to ensure it will stay firmly attached. Note: Stairs that have an existing bull nose will need to have the bull nose removed prior to using stair nosing.
